September 4th Betting Report: NFL Kickoff and One Lonely MLB Play

By MaxT_Whale

Football lovers and gamblers: the wait is OVER.

The NFL is BACK. Thursday Night Football. Prime time. Sweat time. The night my body chemistry shifts from “baseball survivor” to “football addict” in one kickoff.

I’ve been pacing for months, pretending I cared about midseason MLB, faking excitement for tennis tie-breaks, even betting on preseason. But this? This is real life.

Tonight, the Cowboys and Eagles square off in a season opener that screams chaos. Divisional rivalry. New coaching staff. A line that feels suspicious. And of course, I’ve got action everywhere.

⚾ MLB – One Warmup Swing

White Sox ML (+125)
Before we dive headfirst into NFL madness, I’ll toss one unit on the Sox. It’s ugly, but it’s value. The White Sox are scrappy and live dogs tonight. They have been hands down the better team since the all-star break. This is my “pre-drink” before football.

🏈 NFL – Thursday Night Football

Cowboys +8.5 (-110)
Everyone’s already counting Dallas out. No Micah Parsons, new system, Eagles on the rise. But this is still a loaded roster with Dak, CeeDee, and a sneaky defense. Add in George Pickens and Kenny Clark in the trenches, and this isn’t a walkover. Divisional games are always weird. 8.5 is too fat—give me Dallas to keep it close.

George Pickens Anytime Touchdown (+240)
Pickens is the number 2 now behind receiver CeeDee Lamb, which means defenses shift coverage, and he gets room to cook. Everything out of camp has been glowing— great in locker room, teammates buzzing, and this could be his breakout under the lights. He needs a big year heading into contract negotiations next summer. He definitely has something to prove. Hit it.

Dak Prescott Over 6.5 Rushing Yards (-120)
Weird? Yes.
Smart? Maybe.
Fun? Absolutely.

New offense, new OC, new HC—sometimes that maybe means they will roll Dak out or call a QB draw in the red zone. He only needs one or two runs to cash this. I’m here for it. Call it a hunch. Call it degenerate intuition.

Will Shipley Anytime Touchdown (+650)
This is a half-unit dart throw, but hear me out. If the Eagles roll and this game flips into garbage time, Shipley could get touches. Solid first season hype, plus a coaching staff that might want to see what he’s got in year two. It’s a longshot, but longshots keep me alive.

MaxT Final Word

I’m buzzing. We survived the offseason. We suffered through Guardians-Royals. We sat through Wimbledon tie-breaks and fake “training camp updates.”

Now it’s back to what matters: chaos, heartbreak, and “how did I lose that bet” every week, starting tonight.

NFL is here. Let’s burn units like it’s the Fourth of July.
