NFL – Chiefs vs. Chargers in Brazil
Kansas City battles LA tonight in São Paulo—neutral-site drama with Mahomes and the Chiefs laid out as 3-point favorites. They’ve beaten LA seven times straight and want their AFC West crown back. Chargers roll in underdogs, but Harbaugh is mixing reps in the backfield—Najee Harris is expected to play, but there is nothing confirmed yet. I like the value on Harris to hit his over if he does suit up. I am keeping an eye on Tyler Conklin in his Chargers debut (how he is used with Will Dissly) as well as how Hollywood Brown performs for the Chiefs this year with Rashee Rice suspended.
Unfortunately, I think the safe and smart bet is on Mahomes and the Chiefs. However, I am not a square and will be riding the Chargers outright.
Pick watch: Chiefs –3 is solid. Keep an eye on Najee Harris Over 20.5 yards.
US Open – Men’s Semifinals
It’s smash or pass time on the courts:
- Sinner vs. Auger-Aliassime
Sinner is a near-lock with dominant form (–4000 favorite), while Auger is +1600. Serious mismatch warning: Sinner is firing on all cylinders and expected to win in straight sets. - Alcaraz vs. Djokovic
Alcaraz is favored at –380, Djokovic longshot at +300—even with all-time GOAT status. Alcaraz hasn’t dropped a set at this Open, and he’s got the momentum on him
Betting angle: Lean toward both favorites here. Sinner is bedrock; Alcaraz is riding steam. (Sorry, this isn’t releasing until after the Alcaraz match starts.)
College Football – Friday Night Games
We’ve got two Week 2 Friday night kickoff games worth eyeballs:
- James Madison @ Louisville (7 p.m. ET, ESPN2)
Louisville a 14.5-point favorite. They’ve got a QB with confidence (passing 223 yds opener) but JMU might keep it closer if they defend tough. My best play of this game is Over 55.5 - Northern Illinois @ Maryland (7:30 p.m. ET, BTN)
Maryland sits as a big favorite (-16.5). They’ve got speed and an offense that can score in bunches, but NIU is a classic “MACtion spoiler.” Huskies will try to slow it down and keep it ugly. If Maryland doesn’t open up the playbook, this one could be tighter than Terps fans want. Probably won’t bet, but would lean toward the points with NIU.
Not FBS tier fireworks, but betting space is yawning here.
