Saturday in September: 12 hours of college football, 12 units gone before the second round of games kick off, and me sitting on the couch pretending this is “research.” My girl says it’s a problem. I say it’s tradition. I say it makes me happy. I yell, “It loves me back!”
Here’s the full card. No half-measures. If I’m going down, I’m going down swinging on every damn noon-to-midnight kickoff.
NC State vs Virginia – Over 54
98% of the money. 95% of the bets. All on the under. You think Vegas is just gonna let that cash? Hell no. I’ll be the lunatic cheering for a 63–58 game no one asked for.
Syracuse -6.5
Classic “hold your nose” bet. The Orange aren’t pretty, but they’re not that ugly either. Good enough to cover a touchdown. I love Steve Angeli.
Iowa State vs Iowa – Over 42.5
This game usually looks like a funeral procession. That’s why I’m betting the over. Everyone’s hammering the under, but the money’s leaning over. Reverse logic. Reverse happiness.
Miami (OH) vs Rutgers – Over 45.5
Rutgers scored a lot last week. Rutgers also gave up points last week. They can score and are not good at defending. Translation: they’re a gift to the over.
Kansas vs Missouri – Kansas ML
This comes down to whether Kansas’ defense can show up. If they do, this is insane value. If not, I’m eating my ticket by halftime. This will be pretty clear about halfway into the first drive.
SMU ML (-140) vs Baylor
Baylor looked like a bad joke last week. SMU at home. Must-win vibes. I’ll lay the juice. I love what they do down at SMU (Frat wise, maybe football wise).
Oregon vs Oklahoma State – Oregon -28.5
Yeah, it’s a fat number. But Oregon’s offense might score 60 by themselves. If Oklahoma State’s defense doesn’t pack a miracle, the Ducks are covering before the band packs up.
UNC -13.5 vs Charlotte
UNC has no business letting this stay close. Anything under two touchdowns feels like a discount. This is a play on Jordan Hudson more than anything else! She must be impressed, Bill!
Kansas State vs Army – Army +17.5
Army running the option is like betting therapy. They drain clock, they make life ugly, and they keep games close. 17.5 points is way too generous. And Kansas St is awful (I think). Wont watch this game anyways
Arizona State -6.5 vs Mississippi State
91% of the money is on Miss St. Which is exactly why I’m fading it. Forks up. Skatt foreva!!!!
Michigan +5.5
I don’t care who they’re playing. If you’re giving me five points with a playoff-caliber Michigan team, I’m taking it. Underwood better not screw me or I am suing for a share of his NIL cash.
ULM vs Alabama – Bama -35.5
Death, taxes, and Bama covering 5+ touchdown spreads against bottom-feeders after losing week 1 and the whole town of Tuscaloosa not giving them free food and making them show up for class.
UNLV vs UCLA – Over 55.5
UCLA doesn’t play unders. If you watched last week their defense was god awful. I could have walked around picking flowers from the field around that D-Line. UNLV can score enough to keep it interesting. Late-night points keep me alive.
